Rod G. Williams of Helena passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday December 13th, 2023 in Helena, MT surrounded by his life partner, two of his children, and a niece.
He was born in Missoula, MT on March 17th, 1957 to Robert Williams and Mildred Chamberlain. He completed high-school and began his career as a Logger and later as a Slate Rock Miner with and for his dad whom he loved dearly. He spent most of his life living in Helena, MT.
He enjoyed tinkering on cars, shopping, fishing, and hunting. He was very independent his whole life. He was an outgoing people person who liked to be out and about chatting with anyone and everyone. Didn’t want to be in one place for too long, always on the go. He was a loving loyal father to his children, his partner, his dog Nadia, and all his friends. He was generous and kind hearted and would do anything for anyone anytime they were in need even up until the time of his passing. Always going out of his way to help others and never asked for anything in return. Had a very big heart. A few of his favorite things were trains, Mountain Dew, Sunkist, fried potatoes, peanut M&Ms, family gatherings, spending time with his loved ones and all the kiddos in the family. He always had his dog by his side.
He had a never ending love and faithful heart for Jesus and found great joy in sharing the gospel with anyone who was willing to listen.
He is preceded in death by his father Robert Williams, mother Mildred Chamberlain, brother Greg Bisson, aunt Jalia Henderson, aunt Betty Huttinger, numerous other family members and friends, and several fur-babies.
He is survived by his partner in life Jan Williams, his son Shaun (Kelsey Miller) Williams, daughter Kaysee Williams (Billford Junior) Curley, daughter Dustie Williams, his siblings Roy Williams, Wanda (Roger) Wendt, Ronnie (Cornelia) Williams, Kenny (Marilyn) Williams, Mikel (Kara) Williams, Kamie (Tom) Ryan, his dog Nadia Williams, his special family friend Aaron, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, grandchildren, great grand children, and many friends.

Very nice OB. I know it’s so hard to have our Loved ones leave us and go to heaven. We know Rod is where he wants to be and he knows with Jesus his Loved ones will be comforted knowing he is happy with our Lord and all of his Loved ones that have got on before him.

I met Rod in the early 80s through a friend. He had a crush on my sister. He loved to roller skate and was really good at it. My sister and I would go to the roller skating rink with him and wed be skating along and rod would come whizzing by us and then hed be skating backwards laughing and talking to us. And then there were the ski trips where a lot of us would go and one day we almost got snowed in, his friend lance was with us too! And then the trip to Ennis to see my boyfriend in the hospital. Lots of memories.

Jan, Shaun, Kaysee, Our condolences for your loss. Hard to imagine it’s been nearly 50 yrs since I first met Rod. Debbie reminded me of a night we were at a stop light on the drag and we feel a bump and I look back and there’s Rod in his black short box Chevy 4 Γ4, he pours the coal to it and pushes us out in the middle of the intersection grinning from ear to ear. He had a ton of energy and was the fastest skater on the rink. We thank God for the many good memories we have of him. May God bless you all.

I guess it’s my turn to say something about Rodney. Of all people, I probably knew him better than anyone. You see I am his older brother. Of his siblings I am the only one that grew up with Rod. He was a kind and generous person to a point, But could be very bull headed. I think he got that from his father. His kind heart I would think came from his mother Milly. Thick or thin, bickering or just working together. My brother and I had a mutual respect for each other. Rod pretty much was a Montana boy and only spent a year with his mother in 1969. The only time I knew Rod lived outside the state of Montana in Portland, Oregon. Last time I saw Rod was about 3 or 4 years ago when I came thru Helena in my Truck. We as always had a good visit, his dog with him. He help me put up my side kit on my trailer as we visited. One always willing to give a helping hand. I won’t be missing my brother much as I have been the one to travel since my Navy days 50 years ago and a lot of years traveling the country and the world. I share something with Rod and know he’s in a better place waiting for us. I don’t know if it was my influence that Rodney found Christ. But in our conversation it makes me believe that it was. Rod has always been there when a brother was in need. I will miss that. But I look forward to “looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and Savior Jesus Christ, Titus 2:13 KJV to be with my family and brother again. If you are not sure you are going to heaven. John 3:16 God so loved the world that whosoever believes in him will have eternal life.
