Susie passed away on December 15, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born in Los Angeles on June 26, 1945 to Russell and Josephine Hencley.
She was part of the second graduating class of Los Altos High School in Hacienda Heights, California where she met and married her high school sweetheart Arthur (Gene) Farr. They were married on August 16, 1963. They had two children Tracy and Michael. Fed up with the hustle and bustle of big city life, Gene and Susie moved their family to Helena in 1978. Susie worked for the Independent Record until her retirement.
Susie enjoyed retirement traveling with her husband Gene in their motorhome. They always seemed to end up someplace interesting, fun, and warm. Often her travels were with her sister Kathryn and brother-in-law Frank. Although her favorite trips were to Solvang, California with both her sisters Kathryn and Kathleen.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years Gene, her daughter Tracy Marie (Thornburg), grandsons Allan Eugene Thornburg (Jill), Kevin Joseph Thornburg, and Grant Lightfoot. A son, Michael Eugene Farr (Denise), grandsons Brett Eugene Farr, Nathan Showalter (Heather), grand daughter Stacy Sharette (Rick), 6 Great grandchildren Cole Allan Thornburg, Madelyn And Noah Showalter, and Ricky, Michael and Savannah Sharette. Her sisters Kathryn Richmond (Frank), Kathleen Maza (Ray), sister-in-law Sharon Hencley, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
