Sharon Lee Yaeger
1944 – 2025
Sharon Lee Yaeger, 81, of Helena, Montana, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, after a battle with vascular dementia. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Yaeger and her parents Lynn and Cleo Simpson. She is survived by her three children: Michael (Pamela), Michaelle (Jason), and Mevanie (Brad); four grandchildren (Maverik, Mercedes, Jacob, Heather); and three great-grandchildren (Colt,Haven, Waylon).
Sharon was born in Berkeley, California and moved with her parents to farm near Moore, Montana after WWII. She met her best friend and life-time sweetheart in the first grade. She and Gary got married on April 20, 1963, in Lewistown, MT and celebrated 62 years of marriage just before his passing last April.
During Sharon’s life in Central Montana, she was active in church and taught Sunday school, youth groups, and choir for her children and their peers. Belonging to Christian Women’s Club for several years, she also enjoyed time involved in singing with close friends in women’s groups, who sang for Christian functions.
They farmed the Yaeger family farm near Lewistown, on Beaver Creek until 1981, when they moved to the Flathead Valley where Sharon enriched her faith working with the Al-Anon program. One of Sharon’s greatest accomplishments was writing a book entitled Rosalie and Buttermilk Curve. In 2000, Sharon and Gary self-published nearly 400 copies of a biography of Gary’s grandmother, Rosalie Frieda Regli Yaeger. With endless hours of research over a four-year period, Sharon wrote the biography while Gary compiled nearly 300 photographs that were included. The book sold out quickly.
Her other pastimes included playing the piano, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Sharon loved to visit, and time spent with friends and family were the highlight of her life which brought her tremendous contentment. She will be missed dearly by family and friends alike, but her wonderful sense of humor will live on in the hearts of many.
Sharon’s funeral services and celebration of life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 8th at Living Hope Fellowship 4954 Arrowhead Dr., Helena, MT.
