In Memory Of

Steven Hiltner

December 3, 1987 – February 28, 2020

It is with extreme, deep rooted sadness, Steven Robert Hiltner at the young age of 32, ended his life on February 28, 2020. He was the first of two sons born to Tammy Miller and Steve Hiltner on March 12, 1987 in Helena. Steven had recently returned to Helena from Phoenix where he worked in the IT industry.

Steven attended schools in Helena, Spokane and graduated in 2006 from Corona del Sol in Chandler, AZ. He played small fry football, Babe Ruth baseball, hockey, and participated in MMA in Helena. “Need for Speed” was his moto as he loved to drive fast in his Camaros and on his favorite BMW bike.

Steven always stood out in a crowd. His honesty, quick wit, sense of humor and contagious smile will be missed by all who knew him. Steven had many friends all who miss him daily.

Steven is survived by his parents, grandparents Julia Martin (MT), Glen and Shirley Hiltner (AZ). Brothers Robert Hiltner (MT), Brad Hiltner (AZ), Sam Hiltner (WI), and Brenden Bushnell (MN). Aunt Tarrah (TarTar) and Uncle Patrick Clary (WA), Aunts Karla Corridino and Michelle Stillwell (AZ). Cousins Jeannie (Dan) Pocha and girls (MT), Rick Hiltner, Alex Hiltner and Jaxson Corridino (AZ). Niece Payten Hiltner (AZ) who he shares a birthday with and Violett Hiltner (AZ). The family that loved him as if he were their own Gerry, Kathy, Zach, and Czelsi Kolzack.

Steven is preceded in death by his great grandparents Evelyn and Sid Storez, Bob and Katy Hiltner, Mae Ekberg, Grandfather LaVirl Miller and Cousin Sydnee Clary.

Steven’s family would like to take a moment to thank all the friends who loved him so much, and who have helped us during this difficult time. The shocking, unexpected loss of Steven is extremely difficult for anyone whose life he touched. The support, companionship, memories, stories, pictures, laughter and impact he had on us all will help get us through. Thank you for loving him so much in his life, and for showing us all so much love during his loss.

I only worked with Steve for a little over a year. In that time, we got to know quite a bit about each other. We both had a love of motorcycles and fast cars. We talked about his time doing MMA and just life in general.
I’m sorry it has taken me this long to post my memories, but every time I’d start to share, it made it real. I didn’t want it to be real.
Steve was awesome and is greatly missed. My sincere condolences to his family.

It is with great sadness that I learn of Steven’s passing. Steven was in my fifth grade class at Rossiter. It was my pleasure to have Steven in my homeroom and science class. He was inquisitive, social, outgoing and well liked by teachers and classmates. Sending condolences to his family.

To Steven’s family – I worked with Steven at W.L. Gore & Associates (ITAC). Steven was a brilliant and fun guy to interact with. I just recently decided to Google to find him and saw this. I am deeply saddened by this news and was just hoping to reach him to talk about some days we enjoyed together. My deepest condolences.
