Surrounded by loved ones, Teresa “Terri†Ann Armstrong, 54, passed away in her home on Feb. 18, 2013. God gave her ultimate healing after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Terri was born on Nov. 4, 1958, in Billings to parents William “Bill†and Delores (Lawrence) Taylor. Terri and her two brothers, Dan and Todd, were always close. Although later in life they each lived in different states, they always looked forward to and enjoyed their family times together.
Terri grew up in Laurel and graduated from Laurel High School. It was in Laurel that Terri met the love of her life, Tim Armstrong. He worked across the street from the Dairy Way where she worked. Tim and Terri were married on March 19, 1975, and they shared 36 wonderful years together. From this marriage, two children were born, Joshua and Ashlee. They moved to Helena in 1986 and eventually built a home in Montana City.
Terri ambitiously returned to school in her 30s to become an accountant. While in college, she competed on the swim team while remaining actively involved in her two children’s ever-busy high school and middle school lives. She graduated from Carroll College in 1995. For the past 10 years, Terri was blessed to work for the accounting firm Lopach and Carparelli. They stood unwavering by her side until her untimely passing.
A devout Christian, Terri was always actively involved in church, often teaching Sunday school classes and attending Bible studies. She was a great student of the Bible, and would often quote a verse as she was offering support and encouragement to her family and friends. In every word, action and expression, her love for Jesus was evident.
Terri was very close with both of her children and felt so blessed to have them living nearby, along with their spouses and her seven grandchildren. The grandkids kept Grandma “Merma†very busy camping, gardening, kayaking, boating, playing games and attending various sporting events and school activities.
She is survived by her husband, Tim; son, Josh (Kerisa) Armstrong, and grandchildren Jadyn, Laurynn, John and Brady; daughter, Ashlee (Daryl) Mikesell, and grandchildren Dylan, Cooper, Owen and baby to be; mother, Delores (Ed) Lawrence; brothers, Dan and Todd Taylor and their families; and many wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, William “Bill†Taylor.
A celebration of Terri’s life will be held on Monday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m. in Helena at Neighborhood Assembly of God. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in Terri’s name.
