With deepest sorrow, we announce that Terry St. Clair, age 71, our most beloved mother, grandmother, sister, family member, and friend passed peacefully at home on Sunday, January 5, 2020 while surrounded by family. She was born June 10, 1948 in Helena, MT to Willard and Marjorie Steffan. She spent her early years between Helena and Fort Harrison and graduated from Helena High School. She married Robert St. Clair in 1976, whom preceded her in death in 2005.
Terry was a member of the South Hills Church of Christ. She enjoyed doing wild crazy things with her granddaughters Jess and Ashley along with spending time with her other grandchildren. She took pleasure in crocheting, driving her mustang around town, bingo, and volunteering for Special Olympics. There is no doubt, you could always find Terry wearing crocks or anything purple. She appreciated her grandson Coty for living with her and taking care of her and her protective Pomeranian “Teddy Bear” for so many years.
Terry was preceded in death by her husband, Robert St. Clair, parents: Willard and Marjorie Steffan, and sister-in-law, Myrna Steffan.
Terry was devoted to her three children Sandi (Scott) McDonald, Karen (Kevin) Horne, Lance (Laurie) Carlson. She was a loving grandmother and took extreme pride in her grandchildren Jagger, Juan and Bella McDonald, Jessica (Shawn) Colley, Ashley Pearson, Jess (Kevin) Swan, Tyler Lindsay, Coty Carlson, Travis (Andrea) Wilson, Amber (James) Skillman, eight great-grandchildren, brother Wayne Steffan, two nephews, and several cousins.
Please join us in the celebration of Terry’s life on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 1:00 pm at South Hills Church of Christ, located at 2294 Deerfield Lane, Helena. Reception will follow after the service at the church.
Donations may be sent to Hospice of Helena (201 S. California, Helena MT 59601 or MT Special Olympics Twisters (2538 Primrose Lane, Helena, MT 59602.

Karen and family, so sorry for your loss. Your mom and I had a great childhood at Fort Harrison and camping with the family. Terry’s dad made the best from scratch pancakes. I never did learn how to crotchet from Margie but thankfully Terry did. She will be remembered with love.

Terry went to NYC to see the ball drop on New Years Eve, 7 years ago. Because she was with us, we got to move to the front of the line at a very busy singing restaurant (the line was around the block). The host, kept saying make way for “Momma”, she can’t be in the cold….Make way….Then we got the best service ever because “Momma” was with us!
I have been blessed to have her and her family to be in my life, God Bless you Terry and keep that smile, that I will always remember. I love you to the moon and back. Your friend Linda Mason

Prayers and Heartfelt thoughts to all of Terry’s family at this difficult time. I met Terry about 38 years ago, worked with her in the A-frame building across the street from DQ on Prospect. She taught me so much at that time. May the wonderful times and memories help you through this and the future. She will be missed for sure.

Last night my family and I sat around and shared story’s of our mother.
Something said last night multiple times by several family members made me smile and say “yep that is our mom”
The stories we told all night perfectly describes our mother.
For anyone that knew my mother you probably have the same “problem” with sharing stories.
All the greatest memories people have with her would be considered “viewer discretion is advised” stories.
Half of the stories we shared last night would be considered rated R easily.
My nephew and Uncle both commented last night that she was not a ‘Typical” grandma to say the least.
The greatest memories of this Angel is that she was not that “typical” grandma, mother, sister, daughter and friend.
So share some of your stories together and laugh your butts off.
Do not worry about filtering it and tell us what really happened..
She left a piece of her in every single person that was blessed to know her.
This women was and is the best mommy in the world…
Love- Chip
