Theodore “Ted” Brienne Scherf
Ted Scherf died peacefully in his home the early morning hours Thursday November 18th. He was comforted by his son Brother George, sister in-law Lynn, and his son Paul.
Ted was born 1/27/1951 on Roosevelt Island NYC, Raised in Forest Hills he grew up playing stickball and golf. Some of his fondest memories were spending summers at the family farm on the Delaware Water Gap.
Ted Graduated prep school from Blair Academy and attended Washington University in St. Louis graduated in 1972, Then received A Journalism degree from University of Missouri.
Ted moved to Sidney MT. writing for the Sidney Harold after a Christmas Visit with his friend Marry Ann Mercer in 1975. From here he started working for an insurance company moved around the state living in Havre, Bozeman, and eventually settling in Helena with his wife Lavina Clark and son Paul.
Ted was an avid tennis player, skier, artist, and musician.
He is Survived by his Brother George wife Lynn and his two sons Chris and Eric. Sister Caroline and her son Jimmie and daughter Elizabeth, and son Paul.
Funeral Services will be held at the
Plymouth Congregational Church
400 South Oaks Street, Helena Mt, 59601
Saturday December 4 at 1pm.
