Theodore O Putra
Theodore Oliver Putra of Helena, MT went to heaven on March 29, 2014. He was born in Havre, MT on October 30, 1930 to the late Exoria and Rosella Putra. Ted graduated from Havre High School in 1948 and worked on ranches until he joined the Army in 1951 where he served in the Korean War. He was released from active military service and transferred to the Army Reserve where he retired in 1990.
In 1955 he began his career as an Electrician with the Department of Veterans Affairs at Ft Harrison, MT. After 30 years of employment he retired to enjoy the things in life that was most dear to him. He loved to travel, visit with friends, antique cars, playing guitar, listening to music, and most of all spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister and brother-in-law Frances and Francis Griffin and his step-father William DeBray, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by his nephews and nieces, Oliver (Rita) Griffin, Linda McNeill, Colleen (Lyle) Taborsky, Ronald (Bonnie) Griffin, Evie (Mick) Martin, Janice (Wes) Williamson, foster son Eric Dawkins, several great nieces and nephews, cousins and very special friends.
Graveside services will be held at Ft Harrison Cemetery at 10 AM on Friday, April 4, 2014 with a reception to follow at the Helena Indian Alliance, 501 Euclid Ave, Helena, MT.
The family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice for their remarkable care they provided as well Dr. Kevin Bruen and staff at St Vincent’s Hospital in Billings, MT.
The family requests donations be made to Rocky Mountain Hospice or the Helena Indian Alliance in Theodore’s name.
