There are so many things that I remember about my Pops. The way he used to pull out his dentures to gross us kids out, how he used to use Bugle chips (the ones in a cone shape), put them on his fingers and then with a pen, draw eyes, nose and mouth so each finger looked like a little person with a dunce cap on. How he would always draw his made up cartoon character “Luke the Spook”.
I was thinking the other day about all my conversations and interactions with him and I cannot remember a single time when he raised his voice to me. He was always so calm and matter-of-fact and always had such great advice and insight.
Pops was the smartest guy I ever knew and I can honestly say that he was and always will be my hero. I miss you Pops and I know you are in a better place having a nice cocktail with Grandma. I love you.
